Pakistani batter Shan Masood's led Derbyshire on Saturday endured an embarrassing 7-wicket loss against India in the T20 warm-up match.
In the lead to victory by Dinesh Karthik. India took the lead in tossing and decided to play first against Derbyshire. The home team set a target of 151 runs for India to beat Derbyshire. The hosts smashed Derbyshire by taking opening batsmen Shan Masood and Luis Reece within four overs.
From 88-5 at the end of the 13th Derbyshire was able to score 150, largely thanks because of Alex Hughes (24 off 17) and Hilton Cartwright (27 off 26).
Opening batsman Shan Masood added just 8 runs to score the entire score for his side.
The late blows of Arshdeep and Umran who took two wickets each ensured Derbyshire did not get a final kick.
Then, Derbyshire dismissed India's Ruturaj Gaikwad in the opening over.
Two half-century partnerships with 51 scores between Samson and Hooda and 78 runs between Hooda and Suryakumar helped lead the India team to victory in the stand. Hooda left the stand after scoring 59 of the most precious runs from 37 balls.
India hit the mark with 16.4 overs.
