If the PTI intends to use strategies to make people change their party affiliation and vice versa, the coalition government also has the ability to play that type of politics, as stated by Vice President of PML-N Maryam Nawaz during a press meeting on Thursday.
The comments were made following a meeting of PDM's (PDM) chiefs to sketch out a new strategy following the coalition party suffering an important defeat in Punjab.
On Tuesday Wednesday, it was announced that the Supreme Court of Pakistan instated PTI Chairman Imran Khan's Pervez Elahi as Punjab's chief minister. The court also removed PMLN chief Hamza Shahbaz from office, who is the main player in the coalition.
The judiciary was criticized by the PML-N leader who claimed that the decision was not in favor of the formation of a full court as it was an "injustice and a one-sided decision".
"There is unequal justice for Imran Khan and for Nawaz Sharif. If the deputy speaker belongs to PML-N, the court will summon him and will term his ruling as unconstitutional, but the court will not summon him if he belongs to the PTI," Maryam said. Maryam added that the government would not comply with the verdict of the court.
The judge handed over 25 of the members of our party, which includes PMLQ's 10 members for Imran Khan according to Maryam. "This verdict ended the justice system."
In a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to make a decision regarding PTI's foreign fund case, Maryam said that the commission must end its silence or coalition parties will organize protests outside the ECP's office.
"We want the ECP to issue a verdict in the foreign funding case as soon as possible. It has been proved that Imran Khan has taken funding from Indians and Israelis," said the PML-N vice-president.
Maryam stated that she was the PTI chief and has himself voted for as the ECP's chief electoral commissioner. "Khan used to praise the ECP but now is blaming the commission in a bid to pressurize it."
However, PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman also emphasized that the verdict in the case against foreign funds that have been dragged out for eight years will be announced in the near future. "It has been proved that the PTI concealed the details of their accounts from the ECP," the PDM chief said.
In discussing the PDM session, Fazl said that it will last for a few days, and a common strategy is formulated using the views of all the political parties that are involved.
The JUI-F leader said it was a difficult task for the current coalition government to preserve the image of the nation. He also condemned the supreme court's choice in selecting Elahi to be the head of state and claimed that it has caused problems within the country that has culminated in the economic crisis.
