The Punjab police have finally located Dua Zahra. The 14-year-old girl who vanished from Karachi in April. But revealed that she had run away from home to marry 21-year-old Zaheer Ahmed. From the Chishtian region of Bahawalnagar, according to a report released on Sunday.
Dua Zahra and her husband is in police custody and they are in an anti-violent cell. The pair was apprehended by CIA officers at a lawyer's home.
However, Dua is found after going missing for over a month and a half in Karachi. Meanwhile, a Punjab police spokeswoman confirmed that Dua Zahra and her husband. Zaheer Ahmed is transferred by police to Karachi to continue the case's judicial proceedings.
The Karachi police had already been detained. All Zaheer Ahmed's family members in an attempt to exert pressure.
Dua's family had filed a report on her kidnapping on April 16. On the other hand, she later declared on the internet that she had married Zaheer Ahmed.
The mother of Zaheer Ahmed has written to the Prime Minister and the Punjab Chief Minister. She is also pleading for justice for the pair.
She stated in a video statement that they were afraid and sought refuge here. In contrast Zahra and Zaheer Ahmed, she alleged, were being arrested by the police.
The SHC has ordered the IG Sindh to come back to him.
The Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered the Establishment Division. To reassign Sindh Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kamran Fazal's charge. Still, after he failed to produce Dua Zahra before the court on May 30.
The hearing of a petition was filed by the girl's father. Mehdi Ali Kazmi was further carried by a two-member bench. Led by Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro.
The judge sought the opinion of the Establishment Division on whether Kamran Fazal is eligible for this position. After reprimanding the police officer for their failure to recover Dua Zahra. The 14-year-old girl who had gone missing from Karachi in April. But later declared that she had run away from her home to marry Zaheer Ahmed, 21.
Similarly, the judge dismissed the report of the Inspector General of Sindh. Stating that the police officer had given an unreasonable report in the case.
The SHC ordered the authorities to appoint an "efficient" officer to the position. On the contrary, served Fazal with a show-cause notice for his "unwillingness" to cooperate in the investigation.
Yet it's worth noting that after removing Mushtaq Mahar. The Sindh government nominated Dr. Kamran Fazal as Sindh's police head. An officer of the Pakistan Police Service (BS-21) — on May 18.
"in spite of that, the court gave orders to IG Sindh to work on this matter and recover the girl as soon as possible." Even though no meaningful effort is made to retrieve the child. The court exercised caution and accepted the IG's assurance that the child will be back before the next court date.
The court demanded an explanation from Fazal on why the proceedings cannot start. Court has given orders to Fazal to appear in person along with his affidavit. This should be done before the next hearing if he doesn’t want to face the trouble.
"The Secretary of the Establishment Division should take notice of this case. Fulfill all the responsibilities immediately within less time possible. Otherwise, the inquiry will be conducted against Kamran Fazal. Whether he is eligible of this position to take responsibilities of citizens or not," the order stated.
Meanwhile, the court said that the IG Sindh's current role/charge. Will be given to an "efficient" officer right away. And similarly, that officer would be given the court's orders to produce the missing youngster on the next hearing date.
On May 25, the SHC ordered the federal interior secretary. To issue instructions to all relevant law enforcement agencies. To cooperate with the Sindh police in the search for Dua Zahra. an allegedly underage girl who went missing from Karachi last month. And was later discovered to have married a man in Punjab.
Hearing her father's petition for Dua's return. In the same way an annulment of her marriage under the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act. A division bench of the Sindh High Court led by Justice Mohammad Iqbal Kalhoro. Questioned the Sindh police chief about why the missing girl is not found yet and produced despite court orders.
According to the IGP, Dua and her husband were recently found in Balakot, Mansehra. But when the police arrived, the couple had already gone. And their whereabouts were found in Azad Kashmir.
