Yet it's worth noting that after removing Mushtaq Mahar. The Sindh government nominated Dr. Kamran Fazal as Sindh's police head. An officer of the Pakistan Police Service (BS-21) — on May 18.

"in spite of that, the court gave orders to IG Sindh to work on this matter and recover the girl as soon as possible." "On 24th June 2022, the IG appeared in court and he started giving lame excuses and different stories. That is due to a mobile signal issue that was traversing between different provinces. It was difficult to follow them, as there weren’t any clear signs. And no steps were there yet that would help to find the child," the court order read.

Even though no meaningful effort is made to retrieve the child. The court exercised caution and accepted the IG's assurance that the child will be back before the next court date.

Investigation of IGP Kamran Fazal

The court demanded an explanation from Fazal on why the proceedings cannot start. Court has given orders to Fazal to appear in person along with his affidavit. This should be done before the next hearing if he doesn’t want to face the trouble.

"The Secretary of the Establishment Division should take notice of this case. Fulfill all the responsibilities immediately within less time possible. Otherwise, the inquiry will be conducted against Kamran Fazal. Whether he is eligible of this position to take responsibilities of citizens or not," the order stated.

Meanwhile, the court said that the IG Sindh's current role/charge. Will be given to an "efficient" officer right away. And similarly, that officer would be given the court's orders to produce the missing youngster on the next hearing date.

The SHC has directed the Interior Ministry to assist in the recovery of Zahra.

On May 25, the SHC ordered the federal interior secretary. To issue instructions to all relevant law enforcement agencies.
