The first period of monsoon rains in Karachi is likely to begin this evening or later. Before the rain, heavy winds of about 81 km/h could be blowing through Karachi's port, according to the PMD.
A second monsoon is expected to hit the country starting on July 7, according to the weather department.
So, the temperature at its highest in the metropolis is predicted to be within 34 to 36 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the city's humidity is at 66% on the day of its recording.
In a statement, the Met Office said, "Humid and partly cloudy weather is expected in most districts of the country. With rain-wind-thundershower in Kashmir, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, lower Sindh, and eastern Balochistan."
The Met Office said that monsoon rains have begun with initial rains that have hit parts. That comprises Northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A further thundershower shower with isolated heavy rain is expected to hit these regions in the next few days.
The strong monsoon winds are likely to reach the southeastern regions of Sindh and Balochistan as of today.
The PMD has warned that the downpours could lead to urban water flooding. In Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Khuzdar, Ormara, Pasni, and Gawadar during the forecasted time.
So, The heavy fall could trigger flash flooding in local Nullahs/Rivers. Like Barkhan, Zhob, Sibbi, Panjgur, Kohlu, Naseerabad, Nagarparkar, and Dadu It added.
